Speech Pathologist

Alanna completed her Masters of Speech Pathology at the University of Melbourne and is a passionate and dedicated speech pathologist who is also a qualified linguist and professional translator. She speaks English, French and Russian and especially loves working with bilingual and multilingual families, and those who come from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds. She is passionate about all things language and even (secretly) adores grammar!

Alanna has two young children of her own and an extensive fur family, including her ever-faithful hound Shakespeare, who loves to come to work with her to meet all the wonderful kids at The Speech Express. Alanna understands that learning springs from a place of fun, play and support. She loves watching kids fulfill their potential and shine.

Alanna has grown up with and kept animals her whole life, and has seen first-hand the amazing energy, understanding and healing they can bring to their human friends. She has been found more than once talking over a thorny problem with a horse or a dog when it just didn’t feel like a human was the right person to talk to.

She adores watching the strong bond that can form particularly between children and animals, it’s like a piece of real magic.

Outside of work time Alanna loves swimming, playing board games and practising her flute.
