Lincoln
Lincoln is a lovable, gentle and cheeky Groodle (Golden Retriever crossed Poodle). He loves playing with all sorts of new friends at work and making them giggle with his goofy personality. Don’t mind him if he snuggles up close to you, falls asleep on your feet or drops his favourite toy in front of you. His hobbies include tasting the best ‘puppachino’s’ in town, playing fetch at the park and when his ‘hoomans’ aren’t looking hunting for smelly socks. Lincoln is a wonderful listener with a big heart and his super powers include knowing and responding to when clients are feeling sad, worried or nervous.
Some ways he might join into the Speech Pathology session include:
Being with us: Being present in the room and sitting on his mat, encouraging shy clients to confidently come into the room and hang out with him.
Listening: He is an awesome listener and loves hearing my clients learn how to communicate such as practicing speech sounds or different language targets.
Reward/Motivation: Who needs toys as a reward, when you can play with Lincoln?!
Sensory Input: Provide sensory input (pat him, play tug with him, or even have him sit on you!)
Social Skills/Inferencing: The Speech Pathologist might share stories about Lincoln, (good and cheeky ones) and the client can be the judge if he was a good or naughty boy.
Playtime: Lincoln can join in during pretend play such as having tea parties or even real life role play scenarios.
