Jump onboard our Therapy Express Service
For so many of our families it can be hard to fit in therapy practice into their busy worlds. Some of our families experience great burnout whilst others just don’t have the networks to fall back on. While for some other families in our community they are struggling to simply get access to any type of speech intervention due to long wait lists and an extreme shortage of speech pathologists. This service has been created to address this issue and to ensure as many families have access to speech pathology support and therapy. The evidence shows us that positive therapy outcomes are strongly linked to quality of home practice. We also know the advantages in practising our new skills in a range of environments and with different people.
The Therapy Express Service allows:
your child to have a fabulous therapy assistant (TA) deliver a therapy plan devised by a speech pathologist (SP) at home or at school. The speech pathologist continues current treatment on alternate weeks or as needed to ensure progress of therapy goals.
Benefits
- More cost-effective form of intervention;
- Flexibility for therapy sessions to be done at the clients home or school, saving families time in their already busy schedules;
- Written therapy plans/goals that are measured and devised by a speech pathologist;
- Delivering under the close guidance of a speech pathologist with the TA having regular check-ins to tweak strategies and approaches as required;
- Great way for families on wait-lists to begin immediate intervention under the direction of a speech pathologist.
